How to Contribute

The Labour Pains website is intended to serve as both an open discussion forum and as an expanding historical and educational resource. It is aimed at anyone with an interest in the past, present or future of the British Labour Party.

If you would like to contribute to the Discussion section of the website please send articles of c. 600 to 1500 words to labourpains@sheffield.ac.uk. If you would like to contribute to the Scholarship section, please send abstracts of 250 to 300 words to thomas.dowling@sheffield.ac.uk.

Labour Pains Stories

Labour Pains is currently seeking to create an archive of personal histories of the Labour Party, ranging from the testimonies of first-time Labour voters and so-called ‘rank-and-file’ members in constituency Labour parties, to those of former and current Labour MPs. Do you have a story you would like to share? What does the Labour Party mean to you? How has the Labour Party changed during your lifetime? In what ways has it either succeeded or failed to achieve its founding aims? What does the current leadership contest mean to you?

If you have a story you would like to share, please contact thomas.dowling@sheffield.ac.uk.
